Reinhold Schlegelmilch
Reinhold Schlegelmilch ran a porcelain factory in Suhl, Germany, founded in the 19th century. The factory mark was the initials RS in red, encircled by a green wreath, beneath a red five-pointed star. He had two sons, Arnold and Ehrhard. Ehrhard operated the Suhl factory, and most pieces sent to the United States bore the red RS Prussia mark. Arnold started a factory in Tillowitz, now Tułowice in Poland. In 1910, the Tillowitz factory began using the green RS Germany mark. The Tillowitz factory continued producing porcelain through World War II. After the war, the company was taken over by the Polish state in 1946 and privatized in 1995 as Fabryka Porcelitu Tułowice SA. By 2011, production focused on sanitary and building ceramics, including tiles. From 1892 up to the start of World War I, these factories produced the majority of their products for export.
