Paweł Herczyński
Paweł Herczyński is a Polish diplomat who has served as the European Union ambassador to Georgia since September 2022. He studied economics at the Warsaw School of Economics.
In the European External Action Service (EEAS), he was the Director for Security and Defence Policy from February 2017 to September 2019, and then the Managing Director for the Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) and Crisis Response from September 2019 to September 2022.
Earlier in his career, he was Poland’s ambassador to the EU Political and Security Committee from 2013 to 2017. He has held senior roles in the Polish Foreign Ministry, including Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, deputy director of the EU Department – European Correspondent, and Deputy Representative of Poland to the NATO Political Committee in Brussels.
Herczyński speaks Polish, English, Spanish, German, French and Russian.
