Hyles euphorbiarum
Hyles euphorbiarum is a moth in the Sphingidae family. It lives in southern South America and the Falkland Islands, including Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, southern Brazil, and the Falklands.
Adults have been seen in March, July, September, and November, but they are likely active throughout the year.
The caterpillars feed on many plants, including families such as Fabaceae, Nyctaginaceae, Onagraceae, Polygonaceae, Portulacaceae, Solanaceae, and possibly Euphorbiaceae.
Scientific name and history: Hyles euphorbiarum (Guérin-Meneville & Percheron, 1835). It has also been named Sphinx euphorbiarum, Deilephila celeno, and Deilephila spinifascia.
