Huỳnh Thanh Mỹ (March 29, 1938 – October 10, 1965) was a Vietnamese photographer who worked for the Associated Press. He was born in Long An, French Indochina. While covering a battle between the Viet Cong and ARVN Rangers in the Mekong Delta, he was wounded in the chest and arm. As he waited for medical help, the Viet Cong overran the aid station and he was killed. He left behind his 19-year-old wife and their seven-month-old daughter; after the war, they were evacuated to Los Angeles. He was the older brother of photojournalist Nick Ut.
