Ganga Bhishen Agarwal
Ganga Bhishen Agarwal, also known as Haldiram Ji (1908–1985), was an Indian entrepreneur from Bikaner, Rajasthan. He started his career in his father’s bhujia shop and, in 1937, opened his own small shop in Bikaner selling sweets and snacks, especially bhujia. He improved bhujia by using moth ki dal instead of besan and focused on quality, which helped his products become popular. In the 1980s, Haldiram's expanded to Delhi, Nagpur, and Kolkata. The family business later split into three companies led by different Agarwal branches: Haldiram's Bhujiawala (Kolkata), Haldiram's Prabhuji (Kolkata), and Haldiram's (Nagpur and Delhi). By the 1990s, Haldiram's was well known in India and began exporting, with products sold in more than 80 countries, serving snack lovers and the Indian diaspora worldwide.
