Denzel Ramirez (born December 22, 1983, in Chaguanas, Trinidad and Tobago) is a long-distance runner who competes mainly in the 1500m and 5000m. He started running in 2002 and first represented Trinidad and Tobago at the 2005 Central American and Caribbean Championships, where he ran the 10,000m in 33:25. Ramirez ran for Colby Community College, earning Colby’s Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Year and Academic All-American honors in 2005, before moving on to Troy University to study Criminal Justice. His personal bests are 1500m in 3:54.26, 5000m in 14:52.48, 10K in 31:41, and half marathon in 1:09:40. Internationally, he competed at the 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games in the 5000m (time: 15:18.72), won the 5000m at the 2007 Sagicor National Open Track and Field Championship (14:54.16), and finished second in the 2010 IAAF South American Road Race Classic 10K behind Cleveland Forde.
