A Girl for All Time
A Girl for All Time is a British line of dolls, created by Frances Cain and made by Daughters of History Ltd. It has been available since around 2011 and began as a historical doll line, with new modern dolls added in 2016. The dolls are 16 inches tall, made of vinyl, and have movable elbows and knees. Each doll comes with a period-inspired costume, and many have extra outfits and accessories.
Two doll ranges
- Your Historical Girl: This line follows seven first-born girls of the fictional Marchmont family over 500 years, from Tudor times to today. The dolls are Matilda (Your Tudor Girl), Elinor (Your Elizabethan Girl), Lydia (Your Georgian Girl), Helena (Your Regency Girl), Amelia (Your Victorian Girl), Clementine (Your 1940s Girl), and Sam (Your 1960s Girl). Matilda keeps a secret diary that is passed down through generations. Some of the dolls also have accompanying novels.
- Your Modern Girl: A contemporary line with four friends living in modern-day England. Maya (Your Modern Girl) debuted in 2016 after a successful Kickstarter; she is a descendant of Matilda. Her friend Nisha (Your Modern Girl) also released in 2016 and is mixed Eastern Indian and British. Bex (Your Modern Girl) came out in 2018 and is Afro-Caribbean. Max is the only boy in the line.
