Hogg Islands

Hogg Islands are a small, uninhabited group of islands in Antarctica. They lie about 1 kilometer south of Kamelen Island, in the northern part of the Stanton Group. The islands were first mapped from air photos taken by the Lars Christensen Expedition in 1936–37 and later by Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions (ANARE). In 1969, an ANARE dog-sledge party visited the Taylor Glacier area near the islands. They were named for Dr. J. Hogg, a medical officer at Mawson Station in 1969. The central island in the group offers the best camping spot in the area.
