Will Brooke
Will Brooke is an American political staffer who played a role in the Jack Abramoff lobbying scandal. He served as chief of staff to U.S. Senator Conrad Burns of Montana from November 2000 to late 2003, then quit to resume his Bozeman law practice and to be the Montana statewide campaign chief for President George W. Bush’s re‑election, according to Burns in December 2003.
In January 2001, Brooke took a trip to the Super Bowl in Tampa, paid for by Jack Abramoff’s SunCruz Casinos, which violated House ethics rules. The trip also included Burns staffer Ryan Thomas, and staffers tied to Tom DeLay and Bob Ney. Brooke and Neil Volz later joined Abramoff’s team at the law firm Greenberg Traurig.
By December 2005, Brooke was a lobbyist with the Washington firm Ryan, Phillips, Utrecht & MacKinnon, with a Bozeman office. He voluntarily met with federal investigators and the Department of Justice and disclosed information about the Super Bowl trip and his work with Abramoff’s firm. He was not charged with any violation of ethics rules or federal law.
Today he runs Brooke Law Firm, P.C., in Bozeman, Montana.
