Hmeljčič is a small settlement in southeastern Slovenia, in the Municipality of Mirna Peč. It is part of the traditional region of Lower Carniola and the Southeast Slovenia Statistical Region. The area covers 1.53 square kilometers and sits at about 329 meters above sea level. As of 2002, the population was 64.

In Hmeljčič, evidence of an Iron Age hill fort has been found. The local church, dedicated to the Assumption of Mary, belongs to the Parish of Mirna Peč. It is a medieval building that retains 15th-century wall paintings and was redesigned in the Baroque style in the 18th century.
