Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium
Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium, commonly known as the Republican Stadium, is a football stadium in Yerevan, Armenia. Built between 1933 and 1935, it opened in 1935 as Dinamo Stadium. In 1999 it was renamed the Republican Stadium, and later that year it was renamed Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium after the Armenian leader Vazgen Sargsyan was killed. It’s an all-seater, multi-use venue primarily used for football, and it is the home ground of the Armenia national team as well as local clubs Ararat Yerevan and Pyunik.
The stadium seats 14,403 and has a grass pitch measuring 105 by 68 meters. Its record attendance is 16,000 for a 2003 Armenia–Spain match. Major renovations took place in 1953, 1999, and 2008. The 1999 work, with UEFA support, modernized facilities, and the 2008 upgrade by Green Diversified Ltd updated the pitch and VIP areas and slightly reduced seating. The venue is owned by the Football Federation of Armenia and operated by Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium CJSC.
On July 11, 2023, the Khoren Hovhannisyan Football Academy opened on the stadium’s northern side, offering training for about 300 children daily.
