The shooting events at the 1996 Summer Olympics took place at the Wolf Creek Shooting Complex near Atlanta, United States. There were competitions for men and women. It was the first Olympics to include double trap for both genders, and a women’s shotgun event was added. The number of targets in trap and skeet was reduced from 200 to 125. Final-round ties were decided by shoot-offs, instead of using qualification and final scores. A total of 419 shooters from 100 nations competed: 294 men and 125 women.
