Hiram Perkins Vrooman
Hiram Perkins Vrooman (July 24, 1828 – March 8, 1908) was an American pioneer, judge, and politician. He was born in Schenectady, New York, and died in Springfield, Massachusetts.
He was one of eight children of John Vrooman and Elizabeth Bingham, who grew up in New York. His ancestry traces back to Hendrick Meese Vrooman, a Dutch settler from Schenectady who died in the Schenectady Massacre.
In 1837, the family moved to Sylvania, Ohio, where John started a farm. This move happened after the Toledo War was resolved, and Sylvania ended up in Ohio.
