Benton Consolidated High School
Benton Consolidated High School (BCHS) is a public high school in Benton, Illinois. The campus sits at 511 East Main Street in an urban setting and serves students in grades 9 through 12 in its own district separate from the nearby K–8 schools. As of 2023–2024, about 597 students attend BCHS, with around 44.41 full-time teaching staff and a student–teacher ratio of 13.44. The superintendent is Benjamin Johnson, and the principal is Sean Docherty.

History
- The school traces back to 1888, with the first diplomas awarded in March 1888 to 12 graduates.
- In 1909 it became Benton Township High School, with 73 students, on a site across from today’s football field.
- It was renamed Benton Consolidated High School in 1949.
- The district serves Benton, Ewing, Browning, and Barren Township.
- The current BCHS building was completed in 1973.
