Kallam Satish Reddy
Kallam Satish Reddy is an Indian business executive and the chairman of Dr. Reddy's Laboratories. He joined the company in 1993 as an executive director and became managing director in 1997, guiding Dr. Reddy's from making active pharmaceutical ingredients to offering a wide range of finished dosage forms. He also helped expand the company’s finished products into Russia, the CIS, and other emerging markets.
Reddy leads Dr. Reddy's Foundation, which helps the less privileged build sustainable livelihoods through vocational education. He is a trustee of Naandi Foundation, which works on child rights, education, safe drinking water, and empowerment initiatives.
He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Osmania University and an M.S. in Medicinal Chemistry from Purdue University. On October 10, 2019, he was named President of the Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance. He chairs the Life Sciences Sector Skill Development Council under the National Skill Development Corporation to address skill gaps in life sciences across India. He is the Chairman of the Board of Governors of NIPER Hyderabad and the Deputy Chair of the Confederation of Indian Industry’s Southern Region.
Reddy has served on the Drugs Technical Advisory Board of India and led the Andhra Pradesh Chapter of CII, heading its National Committee on Pharmaceuticals. In May 2015, the Ministry of Labour and Employment named him Chairman of the Board of Governors of the National Safety Council. He has been recognized as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2007 and received CNBC India’s India Business Leaders Award in 2005 for his contributions to corporate social responsibility.
