Legacy series

Legacy is a series of essay collections published by Oxford University Press starting in the early 1920s. It was created for the Workers' Educational Association and for university extension courses, at the initiative of John Johnson. In later years, the Appraisal volumes moved away from general surveys and began focusing on the history of specific literary topics.
