Hexalectris colemanii
Hexalectris colemanii, commonly known as Coleman's crested coralroot, is a terrestrial orchid that lacks chlorophyll. It does not photosynthesize and relies on nutrients from soil fungi. It is very rare and only found in southern Arizona, in three counties: Pima, Cochise, and Santa Cruz. It is closely related to Hexalectris revoluta, and some scientists treat H. colemanii as a variety of that species.
