Seeta Qasemi
Seeta Qasemi is an Afghan singer and songwriter who has been making music since 2008. She sings in Pashto and Dari and now lives in Germany because of the conflict in Afghanistan. She originally wanted to be a footballer, but due to the war she moved to Pakistan, later marrying at 25.
She started performing at small events with well-known Afghan singers, and through a meeting with camera man Valy Hedjasi she began writing, composing and singing songs like "Bia Tu" and "Dilbare Mehrabanam". She released the single "Ba Taswiram" and soon her first big hit "Dokht Watan", a love story about an Afghan nomad girl. She then released "Mastam Mast".
Her first Pashto song with Shafiq Mureed was "Ta Sara Meena Larem", which had a video shot in Afghanistan. She also did "Lamba Di Shoma" and appeared in Shafiq Mureed's "Da Afghanistan" video with Mozhdah Jamalzadah. She stayed in Afghanistan long enough to give concerts and interviews, and had the Hazaragi hit "Watandar". For International Women’s Day she released "Zan". She also made her TV debut with a charity show during Ramadan, visiting families in need and helping them, which aired on Khurshid.
