Jennifer Davidson (executive)
Jennifer Davidson (1969–2007) was an American businesswoman and executive at Cartoon Network. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Virginia Tech in 1991 with a degree in broadcast communications. Davidson joined Cartoon Network in 1993 as an operations and production assistant, later becoming director of on-air promotion operations and production. She also served as vice president of marketing, consumer products, ad trade and strategic operations, helping create several Cartoon Network brands. Davidson helped create and launch Adult Swim in September 2001 and was the executive producer of Boomerang, Cartoon Network’s classic spin-off channel. In September 2007, she was promoted to Senior Vice President of programming and scheduling, a role she held until her death. She received several awards, including a 2000 BDA Gold Award for Boomerang promotion and the Betsy Magness Leadership Fellowship for 2007–08. She died suddenly on December 1, 2007, in Atlanta, Georgia, at age 38. She was survived by her husband, John, three children, and both parents.
