Johannes Meyer (actor)
Johannes Meyer (28 May 1884 – 4 November 1972) was a Danish film and stage actor. He made his stage debut at Copenhagen’s Dagmarteatret in 1905 and later appeared in more than 100 films. His first film role was Erneste des Tressailles in Revolutionsbryllup for Nordisk Film in 1909. He mostly played character and supporting parts in talkies from the 1930s, with his last film appearance as Bilvis in Hagbard and Signe (1967) directed by Gabriel Axel. He also worked in radio and TV dramas, and was a stage director at Fonixteatret and Norrebros Theatre before joining the Royal Theatre in 1941. He died in Copenhagen in 1972 at age 88.
