Here for a Good Time (song)
Here for a Good Time is a neotraditional country song by George Strait. It was released on June 13, 2011, as the lead single and the title track from the album Here for a Good Time. The 3:02 track was written by George Strait, his son Bubba Strait, and Dean Dillon, produced by Tony Brown, and released on MCA Nashville. It was Strait’s 92nd single.
The song was used to kick off the Here for a Good Time tour. Taste of Country’s Billy Dukes gave it 4 out of 5 stars, calling its upbeat shuffle a good fit for Strait’s recent sound. It debuted at number 29 on the Hot Country Songs chart, the second-highest debut of Strait’s career, and peaked at number 2 in late October 2011, behind Blake Shelton’s “God Gave Me You.” It became Strait’s 84th Top 10 country single.
