Analog's Lighter Side is the fourth anthology in a series of science fiction stories drawn from Analog magazine, edited by Stanley Schmidt. It first appeared in paperback in 1982 from Davis Publications, with a hardcover edition released by The Dial Press in January 1983. The book collects thirteen works—short stories, novelettes, and novellas—and one poem, all originally published in Analog (or its predecessor Astounding). It includes an introduction by Schmidt.

Most pieces in the collection are accompanied by the original magazine illustrations from their appearances, created by Edd Cartier, Kelly Freas, John Sanchez, Jack Gaughan, and Vincent Di Fate. The volume runs 287 pages and is positioned after Analog's Children of the Future and before Analog: Writers' Choice in the series.
