Heather Childers
Heather Star Childers is an American television news anchor. Born on January 7, 1969, she grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, after being born in Hartsville, South Carolina. She finished high school at Myers Park High School in 1987 and earned a BA in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (after attending UNC Charlotte).
Her career began at WCNC-TV in Charlotte as a producer and reporter in the early 1990s. She later worked at stations in Albany, Georgia, and at WLOS in Asheville, North Carolina. In 2002 she joined News 14 Carolina as an anchor. She moved to Fox News Channel in November 2010 as a reporter and became an anchor for America’s News Headquarters in 2011. Starting in 2017, she hosted Fox & Friends First from 4 to 5 a.m.
In 2012 she posted a link to a birther article on Twitter and said she was asking for opinion. In 2016 she publicly questioned the science on climate change on air. In March 2020 Fox News removed her after she came to work while ill during the COVID-19 pandemic, and her contract was terminated in July 2020. Afterward she returned to television in November 2020 as co-anchor of American Agenda on Newsmax TV with Bob Sellers.
