Harukanaru Toki no Naka de 3 (In a Distant Time 3) is a PlayStation 2 otome adventure game from Ruby Party, published by Koei. It’s the third game in the Harukanaru Toki no Naka de series and part of the Neo Romance label. The story takes place 100 years after Harukanaru Toki no Naka de 2. On a rainy day, Nozomi Kasuga and her two friends are transported to Kyō, a world that resembles Kyoto at the end of the Heian era, where the Genji and Heike clans are at war. The Heike release vengeful spirits called onryō to disturb the land. The boy Nozomi meets is Hakuryū, the White Dragon God whose powers have weakened. Nozomi learns she is Hakuryū no Miko, a priestess who can seal the onryō, and she teams up with the Genji to seal them, restore Hakuryū’s powers, and find a way home.

The game mixes romance and fantasy through choice-driven visual novel storytelling. It originally released for PlayStation 2 in Japan on December 22, 2004, with related titles Izayoiki (2005) and Unmei no Labyrinth (2006) for PS2 and PSP, and a Vita version called Harukanaru Toki no Naka de 3 Ultimate released in 2017. There are also two anime OVAs based on the story, released in 2007 and 2010. The game was created by Tooko Mizuno (character designs), developed by Ruby Party, and published by Koei (with Koei Tecmo Games handling the Vita release).
