Ultraman Zero Side Story: Killer the Beatstar is a two-part Japanese direct-to-video release from 2011. It acts as a sequel to Ultraman Zero: The Revenge of Belial and as a prologue to Ultraman Saga, released in two parts: The Metallic Space and Oath in the Meteor.

Princess Emerana and Jean-Bot are kidnapped by a mysterious celestial sphere. Rei and Hyuga from ZAP Spacy discover the sphere heading toward Planet Buram and rescue Emerana with help from various Ultra heroes. The sphere’s controller unleashes Beatstar, a program bent on destroying life-rich planets, and brainwashes Jean-Bot into fighting humans. Jean-Killer is created from Jean-Bot’s data to lead Beatstar’s army, but he can be swayed to help the heroes. After a battle across the multiverse, the team reaches Beatstar’s control room on a moon, where Beatstar explains his origins: from a destroyed universe, his creators sought to erase life to keep peace. Beatstar is defeated with Jean-Biller’s help and the heroes’ intervention, and the sphere and its army self-destruct. Emerana renames Jean-Killer as Jean-Nine and makes Jean-Bot his tutor. The story includes tributes to the 2011 East Japan earthquake and features changes from the originally planned lineup, such as replacing Musashi Haruno with the Ultimate Force Zero.
