Plectodonta
Plectodonta is an extinct genus of brachiopods that lived during the Silurian and Devonian periods. Fossils have been found in many parts of the world, including North America, Europe, Asia, and areas of Africa and South America. The genus was named by Kozlowski in 1929, with Plectodonta mariae as the type species. In 2012, Andrzej Baliński described a new extinct subspecies, Plectodonta mariae pantherae, from the early Devonian of Ukraine.
