HaSharon Subdistrict
HaSharon Subdistrict is a subdistrict of Israel’s Central District. Its main city is Netanya. The subdistrict lies in the Sharon plain along the coast, which is where its name comes from. It covers about 348 square kilometers (134 square miles) and had a population of about 460,500 in 2016. Ethnicity is about 79% Jews and others, and about 21% Arabs. Most of this area was part of the Tulkarm Subdistrict during the British Mandate. The part of that subdistrict east of the Green Line is now the Tulkarm Governorate.
