Gunnar Krantz (born 1962) is a Swedish comic artist. He started making modern black-and-white comics in the 1980s and became known in Sweden’s fanzine scene. His first professional album was Alger, published in 1986. In the 1990s he helped pioneer Swedish autobiographical comics in a kitchen-sink realist style, inspired by Harvey Pekar. He began with Superangst in 1993 and has continued producing works such as 1981, Nollad, Nazi Beatles, Cykel-Hippie, Vänster Vänster and Punk Provocateur. Krantz has contributed to Swedish alternative comics like Pox, Elixir and Galago. He is also active in other art projects and co-founded the art discussion forum Konstarenan. He has worked as a teacher at Serieskolan i Malmö, a comics and illustration school in Malmö.
