Michael J. Sullivan (born December 18, 1956) is a Republican who served as the mayor of Lawrence, Massachusetts from November 8, 2001, to January 4, 2010. He won the job in 2001 by defeating Isabel Melendez and was re-elected in 2005, beating Marcos Devers. He had also served on the Lawrence City Council. In 2007, he formed an exploratory committee to run in a special election for U.S. Congress to replace Marty Meehan but chose not to run and endorsed Jim Ogonowski. He is the brother of Kevin J. Sullivan, a former Lawrence mayor and state cabinet secretary. He was married to Mary Sullivan (divorced).
