Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde
Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde (My heart slipped and lost) is a 2013 Telugu romantic comedy directed by Vijay Kumar Konda in his debut. Produced by N. Nikitha Reddy under Shresht Movies, it stars Nithiin, Nithya Menen, and Isha Talwar. The film’s music is by Anup Rubens, with I. Andrew handling cinematography and Prawin Pudi editing. It released on 19 April 2013, runs 153 minutes, and was made on a budget of ₹11 crore. The title comes from a lyric in Gabbar Singh’s song Dil Se.
Plot
Karthik, a software engineer who believes in making his own decisions, falls for Sruthi at a friend's wedding. A mix-up leads him to speak with Sravani on the phone, whom he calls “Bangaram.” Sravani and Karthik become friends, while Karthik also helps his friend Madhu win the heart of Sruthi, which creates more confusion. Sravani, who later becomes Karthik’s boss, enlists a plan to teach him a lesson. After a series of comic misadventures, Karthik realizes he loves Sravani, not Sruthi, apologizes, and the couple confess their true feelings and unite.
Soundtrack
Anup Rubens composed the music, released on 27 March 2013 in Hyderabad with a star-studded audio launch. The soundtrack includes a remix of “Yemaindho Yemo Ee Vela” from Tholi Prema, and was distributed by Shreyas Music.
Reception and legacy
The film was a blockbuster, marking a major hit for Nithiin after Ishq (2012). It ran for around 100 days in 18 centres across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It earned about ₹22–25 crore against a ₹11 crore budget. Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde was dubbed in Hindi as Heart Attack 2 (2018) and Malayalam as Magic Love, and was remade in Kannada as Khushi Khushiyagi (2015) and in Meitei as Nungshi Feijei.
