Gregory Crosby
Gregory Crosby is an American poet, writer, and professor. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a Master of Fine Arts in creative writing from the City College of New York. He teaches as an adjunct at John Jay College of Criminal Justice and Lehman College, both part of the City University of New York.
Crosby spent years in Las Vegas, where he wrote for local publications and helped develop the Poets Bridge public art project, including a bronze-poem called The Long Shot. In the 1990s he hosted a weekly poetry event, Club Virtual, at Café Rainbow. He has published several poetry books: The Book of Thirteen (2016); Spooky Action at a Distance (2017); Walking Away from Explosions in Slow Motion (2018); and Said No One Ever (2021). His work blends traditional and invented forms and is influenced by poets like Frederick Seidel, John Berryman, Anne Carson, and Glyn Maxwell. Crosby remains an active figure in New York City’s poetry scene.
