Rampura State

Rampura was a very small princely state in Gujarat, western India. It was part of the Western India States Agency and was classified as a tiny thana in Katosan—the kind of state so small that its independent existence seemed odd. In June 1940 it was attached to Baroda State. A historian notes that such tiny states often lacked resources to run even basic governments. In 1945, Rampura covered about 4.5 square miles, had a population of around 2,304, and generated 11,000 rupees in revenue. It had previously been part of the Rewa Kantha Agency.
