Ghorepani is a village in Myagdi District in the Dhaulagiri Zone of northern-central Nepal. It sits about 17 kilometers from the district capital Beni at an elevation of around 2,874 meters (9,429 feet). The village lies inside the Annapurna Conservation Area, so visitors need a national park permit.

There are many guest houses and tea houses that serve trekkers. Many people stay in Ghorepani before a pre-dawn hike to the sunrise view from Poon Hill, which is at 3,210 meters (10,531 feet).

The name Ghorepani comes from old traders who used to water their horses there (pani means water, ghora means horse). With new roads, the old trade route isn’t as important, so tourism is the main income now.

Ghorepani is on a major trekking route that connects several villages and leads toward the Annapurna Base Camp. From the southeast, you can reach Ghorepani on foot from Birethanti in about 10 hours, though many trekkers spend two days stopping at lower villages because the trail is steep and the scenery is beautiful. Now, many trekkers can reach Ulleri by bus or jeep and then walk about three hours to Ghorepani.

From the northwest, the route from Tatopani takes about 8–10 hours and passes through Shikha, Dana, and Chitre before reaching Ghorepani.
