George Worthington (cricketer)

George Worthington (4 March 1822 – 27 July 1900) was an English first-class cricketer who played for Oxford University. He appeared in two matches in 1844, scoring 6 runs with a top score of 4. Worthington was the son of Charles Worthington, educated at Tonbridge School and then at St John's College, Oxford. While at Oxford he played in The University Match against the Marylebone Cricket Club and Cambridge University. Later in life he suffered ill health and did not pursue a profession. He died in Bristol, England, in 1900 at the age of 78.
