George Brown (rugby league, Batley)

George Brown is a former English professional rugby league player who played in the 1940s. He played as a second-row forward. At club level he played for Batley (1942–1945) and, during World War II, as a guest for Leeds. He played right-second-row in Leeds' 15–10 victory over Halifax in the 1941–42 Challenge Cup Final at Odsal Stadium, Bradford, in front of 15,250 spectators. He won a cap for England in 1945 while with Batley, playing against Wales.
