Meiler Bourke

Meiler (Miles) Bourke, the 11th Mac William Íochtar, was an Irish chieftain who ruled Lower (North) Connacht. He died in 1520. He was the son of Theobald Bourke, the 8th Mac William Íochtar. He became chieftain in 1514, succeeding his cousin Edmond de Búrca, the 10th Mac William Íochtar. His successor was his cousin Edmond de Búrca, the 12th Mac William Íochtar, the son of Uilleag de Búrca and grandson of Edmund na Féasóige de Búrca, the 4th Mac William Íochtar (d.1458).
