Gamerizon
Gamerizon is a private video game developer and publisher based in Montreal, Canada. Founded in 2008 by Martin Lizée, Robert Lizée and Dominique Bélanger, the studio creates mobile games for iPhone and iPad. It is best known for the Chop Chop series, including Chop Chop Ninja, Chop Chop Runner, Chop Chop Tennis, Chop Chop Soccer, Chop Chop Hockey, Chop Chop Caveman, Chop Chop Kicker, Chop Chop Rocket, Chop Chop Slicer and Chop Chop Ninja World. The games are famous for their cartoonish, big headed characters. The Chop Chop titles have been downloaded about 15 million times on Apple’s App Store, with several titles reaching 1 million downloads each. The team numbers around 30 employees.
Gamerizon has received recognition and funding. In 2011, PocketGamer named it a top app developer, and the company announced a US$5 million first round investment from Vanedge Capital and iNovia Capital, with plans to hire up to 100 people. In 2012 they announced Chop Chop Ninja World as a social freemium game for iOS and Android, and PocketGamer again highlighted them as a developer to watch. They planned a worldwide release for Chop Chop Ninja World and announced a TV tie-in for Chop Chop Ninja character Iro on Teletoon in 2014. The studio also contributed to Star Citizen's web Starmap, delivering interactive 3D components, which won an Adobe FWA Cutting Edge of the Year award in 2016.
