Hangover Heaven is a mobile IV hangover treatment clinic based in Paradise, Nevada. It was the first to study hangover treatment and even runs its own Hangover Research Institute.

Founded in 2012 by Dr. Jason Burke, a Duke-trained anesthesiologist, the clinic opened in April 2012 after Burke developed an IV saline mix with vitamins, antioxidants, and medications that can relieve hangover symptoms in under an hour. To save on costs, Burke bought a 45-foot Eagle M-15 bus to serve as the clinic and transport. The bus has two lounge areas and bunk beds, travels along the Las Vegas Strip to pick up patients, and can also make house calls.

Hangover Heaven offers three IV treatment options that include multivitamins, antioxidants, and medicines to treat nausea and inflammation. The service also provides hangover prevention education, preventive IV therapies like the Myers’ cocktail, and Vita Heaven vitamin supplements. The practice began on weekends and later expanded to daily operations with a second clinic in an office space.

Some medical professionals raised concerns about the approach. Dr. Drew Pinsky debated the issue of alcoholism related to the treatment, and Dr. Arthur Caplan warned about risks for patients with underlying medical conditions. Burke says he uses a subjective evaluation and complete medical history to ensure patients aren’t intoxicated or on drugs, and the clinic is staffed with emergency medical technicians and registered nurses.
