Flour Bridge
Flour Bridge (Mучной мост) is a small bridge over the Griboyedov Canal in Saint Petersburg, Russia. It gets its name from flour warehouses nearby that were built in the 1700s, which also gave the area its Flour Alley name.
The first bridge at this spot was built in 1931. It had three spans and carried heating pipes across the canal. In 1951 it was rebuilt as a single-span pedestrian bridge, based on a design by P. V. Bazhenov.
The bridge is an arch formed by a curved steel beam, supported by the quay walls. At each end there are gently sloping stairs down to the canal’s banks. The total length is 22.5 meters and the width is 2.3 meters.
