KEJB (TV)
KEJB (channel 43) was a television station licensed to El Dorado, Arkansas, serving the Monroe, Louisiana–El Dorado, Arkansas market. Owned by KM Communications (KM Television of El Dorado, LLC), it branded as My43 and broadcast on digital and virtual channel 43.
The station began operations on October 11, 2003 and lasted until June 4, 2010. Its network affiliations changed over time: America One (2003–2004), UPN (2004–2006), and MyNetworkTV (2006–2010). KEJB’s transmitter was located near Bolding, Arkansas, on the same tower as NBC affiliate KTVE (channel 10).
KEJB was originally slated to start on October 10, 2003 as a UPN affiliate, but equipment delays postponed the launch. Time Warner Cable in Ouachita Parish carried UPN programming via fiber during the delay. On February 1, 2004, KEJB launched full-time with a mix of UPN, local, and syndicated programming, becoming Monroe’s second UPN affiliate after KLAX.
For the digital transition, KEJB did not receive a companion digital channel because it was granted its construction permit after the FCC’s DTV plan was finalized. It performed a “flash-cut” to digital by mid-2009. A digital signal did go on the air but shut down in 2010 due to equipment failure; the station did not file for a license to cover or an extension, and the FCC deleted KEJB’s license on December 22, 2010.
