Fanny Langdon
Fanny Elizabeth Langdon (1864–1899) was an American zoologist who studied the senses and nervous systems of invertebrates. Born in Plymouth, New Hampshire, she taught for three years after a normal school, then began studying zoology and botany at the University of Michigan in 1891. She earned a bachelor’s degree in 1896 and a master’s degree in 1897. She became an instructor at Michigan and did research at the Marine Biological Laboratory in Woods Hole in 1897. Langdon died after surgery for appendicitis.
