Take a Seat
Take A Seat is a travel project by Dominic Gill. He tours on a tandem bicycle and sometimes invites locals to ride with him. A film about the journey aired in the UK and the story was released as a book. In 2005 Gill biked from Alaska to Argentina—about 20,000 miles—over just over two years. He used a tandem bike and picked up other riders along the way to meet people and see places. The film won the Special Jury Prize at the Banff Mountain Film Festival in 2009 and has been shown in more than 400 cities. The book won the History/Biography Prize at the National Outdoor Book Awards in 2011. Later, Gill added more Take A Seat projects, such as Take A Seat: Alberta, Take A Seat: Egypt, and Take A Seat: Across America.
