Fang Fuquan (方复全), born October 1964 in Tongcheng, Anhui, is a Chinese mathematician known for his work in geometry and topology. He has been the president of Capital Normal University since September 2021.

Early life and education: Fang’s father faced political persecution during the Cultural Revolution. He studied applied mathematics at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, graduating in 1986. He earned a PhD from Jilin University in 1991.

Career: After a brief teaching stint, Fang did postdoctoral research in Germany at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz (1993–1994). He became an associate professor at Nankai University in 1994. He was a visiting scholar with the Max Planck Society (1995–1996) and at the Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques (IHES) (1996–1997). He joined Capital Normal University in 2004, served as dean of the Mathematics Department from 2015, and was named vice-president in 2016. In 2017, he was elected a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is also a delegate to the 13th National People’s Congress.
