Cont Mdladla Mhlanga (1957/1958 – 1 August 2022) was a Zimbabwean playwright, actor and theatre director. He founded Amakhosi Theatre Productions in 1982 and led the company for many years. His notable work includes The Good President. Mhlanga was a vocal critic of Zimbabwe's government under Robert Mugabe and was arrested several times for his public views. In 2008, he, Burmese satirist Zarganar, and City of Rhyme—the 14-member hip-hop group from northern Brazil—won the inaugural Freedom to Create Prize for their art promoting freedom of expression.
