Eye for an Eye (2010 TV series)
Eye for an Eye (Spanish: Ojo por ojo) is a US-produced Spanish-language telenovela created for Telemundo and RTI Colombia. It adapts Laura Restrepo’s novel El Leopardo al Sol and borrows some elements from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. The story was developed by RTI Producciones and Telemundo Studios from Gustavo Bolivar’s adaptation of Restrepo’s work.
The series stars Gaby Espino, Miguel Varoni, Gregorio Pernía, Carmen Villalobos, and Gonzalo Garcia Vivanco. The opening theme, “Mi amor por ti,” is performed by Salvatore Casandro. It was filmed in Colombia (Bogotá, Girardot, La Guajira) using a multi-camera setup, with each episode running about 42 minutes.
Eye for an Eye premiered on Telemundo in the United States on December 14, 2010, and concluded on May 3, 2011, after 98 episodes. The executive producer was Hugo León Ferrer and the producer was Jorge Sastoque Roa. The series is in Spanish, and English subtitles were available on CC3.
