Daniel (2019 film)
Daniel (Danish: Ser du månen, Daniel), also marketed as Held for Ransom, is a 2019 Danish biographical drama film directed by Niels Arden Oplev. Based on a book by Puk Damsgård, it tells the true story of Daniel Rye, who was held hostage by ISIS for 13 months. The film stars Esben Smed as Daniel Rye, with Toby Kebbell and Anders W. Berthelsen in supporting roles. It was released on 29 August 2019, has a runtime of 138 minutes, and is a Danish-language production with a budget of €5.6 million.
