Emirates International School – Jumeirah
Emirates International School – Jumeirah (EISJ) is a private international IB school in Dubai. It was founded in 1991 by Sheikh Dr. Majid Al Qassimi and is owned by the Al Habtoor Group. The campus is in Umm Al Sheif, Jumeirah, on a suburban 12-acre site that was expanded in 2016.
Age range and language
The school serves students from KG1 to Year 13 (ages about 3–18) and uses English as the language of instruction.
IB programs
EISJ offers all four IB programs: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), and Diploma Programme (DP), as well as the Career-related Programme (IBCP). In 2005, a secondary sister school, Emirates International School – Meadows, was opened, and the original campus was renamed Emirates International School – Jumeirah.
Accreditations and oversight
The school is a member of the Council of International Schools (CIS) and The Alliance for Sustainable Schools (TASS). It is overseen by Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), which inspects and rates the school.
Campus and facilities
The EISJ campus features science labs (including a robotics lab), art and music rooms, three libraries, a 568-seat theatre, a swimming pool, two grass sports pitches, and a fitness suite. The school offers a range of facilities to support learning and activities.
Students and staff
Around 2,260 students from about 100 nationalities study at EISJ, taught by roughly 182 teachers. The average class size is about 22, with a student–teacher ratio of 1:12.
Fees
For the 2024–2025 school year, tuition ranges from AED 38,636 for younger years to AED 81,872 for Year 12–13.
Model United Nations
Since 2018, EISJ has hosted the annual Emirates International School Jumeirah Model United Nations (EISJMUN), drawing about 700 participants from schools across the UAE.
