Elvasia
Elvasia is a Neotropical genus of flowering plants in the family Ochnaceae. It includes 14 species native to the tropical Americas, from Belize to Bolivia and southeastern Brazil. The genus is part of the order Malpighiales and sits in subfamily Ochnoideae, tribe Ochneae, and subtribe Elvasiinae. Historically, Elvasia has been known by several synonyms, including Hostmannia, Trichovaselia, and Vaselia. The genus was first described by de Candolle in 1811.
