Kenton B. Onstad (born July 17, 1953) is a North Dakota politician and farmer. A member of the Democratic-NPL, he served in the North Dakota House of Representatives from 2001 to 2016, representing District 4, which includes Mountrail County, the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation, parts of Mercer County, and northern Dunn County. He was the Democratic-NPL Minority Leader in the North Dakota House from 2013 to 2016. Before that, he served as Assistant Minority Leader and held local offices as alderman for Parshall and an official in Booner Township. He is the owner and manager of a farm and also works for Mountrail-Williams Electric Cooperative. He earned a BS in mathematics from Dickinson State University in 1975. He and his wife Kathy live in Parshall, North Dakota, and they have three children: Sarah, Jaclyn, and Andrew.
