Scott Touzinsky
Scott Joseph Touzinsky (born April 22, 1982) is an American volleyball player and coach. He played for the U.S. national team from 2007 to 2018 and won Olympic gold at the 2008 Beijing Games. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, he starred at Long Beach State, finishing as the school's single-season ace leader and earning AVCA First Team All-America honors in 2004. He helped Long Beach State reach the 2004 NCAA championship game and, after recovering from a serious ACL tear, continued his career overseas before retiring from professional volleyball in January 2017. He later coached at Long Beach State. In 2018, he was suspended by USA Volleyball in connection with a SafeSport investigation related to his time on the national team; he left the program in 2019 after SafeSport sanctions for sexual misconduct were announced.
